Man, these past few months have been so weird in every context! It’s my first real spring experience to be had in the south. I’m reading a lot about this new climate in the local newspapers, so that I can be more prepared. See, where I come from, you can count on your winter season lasting into May with snow even. So, easily, in this new location, when it seems to leap straight into springtime anywhere around March, you can see my surprise and balance being thrown. That abrupt and often very hot air is already a lot to get used to for me in this climate, but then throw in this time of year! When it actually got so hot outside in early March that my family was asking if I could turn off our whole furnace to just rely on the natural outdoor temperatures, I was pretty blown away and excited for the money we could save doing this. The only thing is, this weather hasn’t persisted as one would always be fooled into thinking it would stay at. Recently the air temperature has been all over the board with up plus down, rainy plus sunny, windy plus still to contend with. As we will have one week with amazing outdoor temperatures in the 69’s that has us in shorts, soon thereafter we can see under a week of freezingly cold plus wet weather that puts our heavy coats back on. Now, this is annoying enough as a human being who has plans to make each day away from the house for a good twelve hours. But it’s even more disturbing for my home’s central heating plus cooling system that is utterly confused and amidst failing. Since the stupid outdoor weather can’t seem to make up its mind r remember what season are about, then it will be hot or cold where I have continually been switching between our heating plus cooling plans incessantly. However one day the people I had the air conditioner running to cool down the indoor air that reached uncomfortable highs when in twelve short hours the next day we’re cranking the furnace to compensate for the sudden temperature drop and the whole house complaining as if it were my doing. I suppose it has to be causing an honest amount of damage to our indoor temperature control equipment with such drastic movements, although I don’t suppose what else to do until the outdoor air temperature evens out.
