I have lived my entire life, in the south. I have my entire family close to me, and I love them. We all love the hot weather that goes with the area we live in. I don’t mind running the air conditioning for eight months a year. I don’t have to have a furnace in my house, or a dirty fireplace. I never have to waste money on boots or winter coats, living in the south. My brother moved up north a couple of years ago. We were always close, and I have really missed him. He wanted me to come up and visit over my winter vacation, and I was a bit hesitant because of it being so cold up there. He told me that he would take me shopping for heavy clothing, and he wanted to show me the ski slopes. We used to laugh about going skiing some day. The day the plane landed, there was a snowstorm going on, and I had to walk in the snow to get to the car. My brother turned the heater on and set the thermostat as high as it would go, but I was still shivering. I couldn’t even get warm when we got to the house. I knew the furnace was running, but I was always turning up the thermostat in my bedroom. I just couldn’t stop shivering. I never did go skiing, and I absolutely refused to leave the house. He told me that I was breaking his bank needing to pay for the heating bills. I was never so happy as the day I got on the plane to go home.
