My childhood consisted of spending a lot of my summer days at our town’s library. I really loved examining the books and watching motion pictures, but I especially loved that every library had cold air conditioning. I didn’t have any air conditioning within my own home, because we were poor farmers with almost no money. The best we had inside our house, was a small fan propped on the living room window. I really enjoyed sitting in the library, because it was interesting, and there was a lot to see and learn. The library was located about four blocks down the road from my home, and that was an effortless walk for me in summer time months. I read every book I could find, and most knew me by first name. I started working at the library the instant I turned fourteen. That was the age for working, when I was in high school. I worked five days a week at the library, and I was there during a lot of my free time too. I can’t imagine how different my life would be if I had air conditioning in my home. I spent all this point looking at books and reading about science, just because my house felt like an oven on occasion. I still enjoy sitting anterior to the air conditioner, while reading an excellent novel. Since I have three kids, all teenagers, I get much less time to spend at the library. It’s is an invaluable thing we have a great cooling system in our home.
